1941 Willys

Originally named the Willys Quad, the MA and later, the MB, the 1941 Willys was soon known far and wide by the world-famous moniker it goes by to this day: the legendary Jeep®.
Developed during WW2 by Willys-Overland to replace the U.S. military’s motorcycle and modified Ford Model-T, the 1941 Willys MB did far more than simply answer the call of duty for a ‘general purpose’ vehicle.
Although only 16,000 were first commissioned, they proved their value immediately, helping GIs and their Russian and English Allies in combat, on patrol and during missions across deserts and up and down mountainous terrain. It even went on to earn a symbolic Purple Heart. “It did everything, it went everywhere,” wrote the war correspondent Ernie Pyle. “[It] was as faithful as a dog, as strong as a mule, and as agile as a goat. It constantly carried twice what it was designed for and still kept going.”

Battle-tested and hero-approved, the all-purpose beast featured a gearshift on the steering column, low side body cut-outs, and two circular instruments clusters. Built to overcome the harshest driving conditions, it’s no wonder the Willys MB’s adventure-ready capabilities made it a success with civilians too. It soon became a utility vehicle for the farm and for off-road expeditions, naturally serving as the precursor for the Jeep CJ and Jeep Wrangler.

1968 Jeep® Wagoneer

Fusing passenger-focused comfort, convenience and interior styling of a station wagon with the ready-for-anything spirit and capabilities of Four-Wheel drive (4WD), the Jeep® Wagoneer was introduced in 1962—spawning the rise of the Sport Utility Vehicle that continues to be a dominant force in the automotive industry to this day. Stylishly crafted by Brooks Stevens—the same famous industrial designer who styled the Hydra-Glide Harley-Davidson—the Wagoneer featured the first automatic transmission in a 4x4 vehicle, first independent front suspension, and the first overhead-cam six-cylinder truck engine.

The 1968 Wagoneer helped propel this American icon even further into the pantheon of luxury SUVs. While it delivered slightly less horsepower than the previous AMC V8 engine, the Buick 350 cu-in, 5.7-litre Dauntless V8 in the 1968 models more than made up with more torque at lower rpm—350 ft-lb at 24000 rpm. Along with its powerful performance, the 1968 Wagoneer late-‘60s design cues like halfmoon-shaped speedometers, bright metal inserts, of-the-moment exterior paint palettes.
Due to the increasing popularity the four-door Wagoneer models, 1968 saw the retirement of the two-door counterpart, but with virtually no structural changes to the body, the 1968 Wagoneer holds its head high as another important milestone in the third largest-produced single generation car in U.S. automotive history.

1980 Jeep® CJ

A proud descendant of the CJ-2A—first civilian Jeep® produced after WW2—the 1980 Jeep CJ-5 was available in a raft of special editions that continued to make the vehicle as universally appealing as it was functional. Along with the Renegade, Jeep offered the one-year-only “Golden Hawk” sticker package and the legendary Laredo package. Raising the game with stylish eye-catching accents, the Laredo grabbed attention with chrome grille, bumpers, wheelbase, head emblem and trim. Powering the 1980 CJ was GM’s Iron Duke—a 151ci four-cylinder, two-barrel engine with 82 hp at 4,000 rpm and 125 lb-ft of torque at 2,600 rpm.
Over the years, Jeep Brand vehicles have always stayed ahead of the pack, but its rugged good looks, world-renowned reliability, and unrivalled passion and power for driving adventure has remained consistent. No matter what vintage, Jeep Brand vehicles are, and will be always be, the stuff of legend.
